Titanal Sheet For Damping

Titanal is an aluminum alloy reinforcement sheet. It is commonly used in high-end builds to add torsional stiffness and damping. Laminating with a full-width sheet of VDS is recommended to improve bonding and damping properties. Both sides of the metal are phosphoric-acid anodized for a bondable pore structure. To protect this surface, material should be stored in a warm and dry environment. The surface should also be kept clean from oils, scratches, or condensation. To assure the surface is clean, a denatured alcohol or pure IPA wipe can be used. This metal sheet is 310mm wide, 0.3mm thick, and sold by the foot (continuous). Bonding to metals comes with delamination risks and experimentation is suggested.
